Garmin has released a new flagship aviation smartwatch model in the US, the D2 Mach 2. The device is the successor to the D2 Mach 1 model, has an updated design, as well as more detailed color maps.

The watch is available in two sizes: 47mm with a titanium bezel and Oxford Brown leather strap, and 51mm with a diamond-like carbon (DLC) coating and a matching ventilated titanium bracelet. Both versions are additionally equipped with a QuickFit Pilot silicone strap in blue and black.

The device is equipped with a 1.4-inch AMOLED touchscreen display, which is protected by sapphire glass. The watch also has a microphone and speaker, allowing you to make or receive calls and use voice commands. Additionally, there is an adjustable flashlight with a red light mode to preserve night vision.

Aviation features include GPS navigation, HSI (heading indicator), and the "most detailed color mapping" of any Garmin model. Health monitoring includes heart rate monitoring, an ECG app, Evening Report for daily activity analysis, and Body Battery, a tool to assess the user's energy levels.

As for battery life, according to the manufacturer, the 47 mm model in smartwatch mode will last up to 14 days on a single charge, and the 51 mm version will last up to 26 days.

Both versions of the Garmin D2 Mach 2 are available for purchase now from Garmin's US online store. The 47mm model is priced at $1,349.99, while the 51mm model is priced at $1,499.99. It is expected to be available globally soon.
