Apple has made a strong start to its new generation of smartphones. According to Counterpoint Research, iPhone 17 sales in the US and China — Apple's key markets — exceeded the iPhone 16's results by 14% in the first 10 days.
The most popular model was the base iPhone 17. It received a number of important updates: an improved display, more memory, and a new A19 chip that provides higher performance. Demand in China was especially strong - there the base model sold almost twice as much as the iPhone 16 in the first days after its release. Analysts believe that this is due not only to technical improvements, but also to the right pricing strategy and consumer expectations.
Demand for the premium iPhone 17 Pro Max has also increased, particularly in the US. It has attracted interest from users who last updated their phones during the pandemic. The flagship model attracts with its camera system, more efficient heat dissipation, and the biggest redesign of the case in recent years.
As for the iPhone Air, according to Counterpoint, it is selling slightly better than the iPhone 16 Plus, but Apple plans to significantly reduce its production.
Despite the difficulties with the development of artificial intelligence and the delay in the implementation of Apple Intelligence, the Cupertino company maintains its leadership position. The iPhone still provides about half of Apple's revenue, and the steady demand for the new line confirms that the brand retains the trust of buyers in key markets.
By the way, thanks in part to the iPhone, Apple has remained the world's most valuable brand for the 13th year in a row. Its value is estimated at approximately $470.9 billion.
